The title references the Chinese idiom “藕断丝连” (ǒu duàn sī lián), a recurring motif in Zhuang’s work, which speaks to lingering threads that persist even after rupture. Drawing from natural forms, the piece reflects on the quiet endurance of emotional ties—less as instruments of control than as resonant forces that flow with and through us.
