Over a period of two months, the artist lived by herself in France where she cooked daily. Vegetable stems and fruit peels are saved, dried on a counter, and collected in jars. In this installation, each fragment of food is frozen in ice cube like a piece of memory to be cherished. A thread dyed by black tea hangs the ice cubes from a tree branch foraged in the woods. Buried within soil is a humidity sensor that provides a real-time acoustic soundscape. The installation is a dynamic process that embodies the ephemeral nature of memory and place, making it akin to a living organism which would later take place in two other countries.
